2006 Middle Park Land Trust Annual Report

Accomplishments

  • Accepted the donation of 12 Conservation Easements in Grand County totaling 1071 acres.
  • Middle Park Land Trust now protects  3,761 acres of forest, meadows, lakefront, agricultural land and open space through Conservation Easements.  We also serve as the backup Conservation Easement holder on another 830 acres of land.
  • Hired Billy Sumerlin as the Executive Director.
  • Two new businesses have joined our “Business Partners Program” (formerly the 1% program).
  • Three new brochures were designed and printed. The three different brochures each has an intended focus or target group such as; new membership, landowners and the Business Partner Program.
  • Began participation in the Vehicles for Charity Program.  Individuals can now donate their vehicle to the Land Trust and receive the tax deduction.
  • Received financial support from the Towns of Winter Park and Granby.
  • Received a grant from the Summit Foundation to help fund the design and printing of the brochure targeted towards landowners.
  • Received a grant from the Grand Foundation to help fund the hiring of our new Executive Director.
  • Received grants from the Forte Foundation and the Harriman Foundation.
  • Received a grant from Colorado Conservation Trust to help fund the Executive Director position.
